CALL FOR ARTICLES
CALL for WildTalks Articles
We would like to invite you to contribute a wildlife or conservation article for publication in WildTalks (magazine and/or online). WildTalks accepts articles and/or proposals for previously unpublished work, including, but not limited to, articles, writings, and photographs that responds to our current call for submissions.
Our mandate is to present accurate, well researched and verifiable wildlife and conservation information in accessible prose. The WildTalks magazine is not an academic journal, although many of our contributors are notable academics. If you are submitting material that has been developed in an academic context, please consider how it can be re-framed as a magazine article for a general readership. Please take a look at our past issues to get a sense of the type of work we are interested in.
Articles vary in length, but should be between 450-900 words. Please also upload sample images if relevant. Short text pieces are often accompanied by more visual material, and longer pieces might be more intensive essays. In some cases we may specify a word count based on available space. Finished pieces must be formatted according to our style guide: CLICK HERE to view/download pdf.
Due to the volume of submissions, we can only respond to authors whose articles we expect to publish. Contact will be made within 2 weeks of receiving a submission.
Please email us at info@wild-talks.org if you have any further questions or experience any technical problems, using “Article/Proposal” in the subject line.
- The WildTalks Magazine covers all areas of Conservation and Wildlife information, including: research, education, management strategies, conservation challenges and solutions, eco-tourism, legislation, national and international policies, media in conservation, and all other related topics.
- Submissions must be the author’s original work and should not have been published or submitted previously anywhere else for publication.
- All article submitted should be neat, punchy, well-researched and well-argued pieces that are informative and contribute to a productive discussion. The articles should be in proper format as indicated in the Author Guidelines.
- Please send appropriate photos along with your text submission, if possible. These should be high resolution, in jpeg, tiff or png format and preferably unedited (or at least without special effects). Please do not send us images for which you do not have the copyright.
- We only publish articles and images with the written consent of the legal copyright owner(s), thus, by submitting your article and/or images you warrant that you are the legal copyright owner and/or legally authorised user of the content. By submitting the content you give WildTalks the legal authorisation to use and/or publish it in/on/through the WildTalks platforms (download our Publication Agreement).
